As an entrepreneur, learning never really stops. You’re constantly reading, writing, speaking, or attending events. I learn through reading, listening to podcasts, taking classes, getting certified, going to conferences, networking etc. Luckily, I come from a family of readers. Growing up, my sister and I would devour books from the library and our father would stay up late reading books and wouldn’t be able to sleep unless he read at least a few chapters. My wife and children are the same and we often have quiet reading time after dinner and before bed time. In addition to reading at home, I often listen to podcasts on my drive to the metro and once I’m on the metro, I’ll open up kindle and read a book. I find that reading in the morning helps jog my mind. I feel that reading is not only an important intellectual activity, but the benefits to an entrepreneur are incredible. I often get asked by students, entrepreneurs, and other business leaders for any books that I might recommend. I’ve decided to put together a reading list on various subjects that may be useful to entrepreneurs or those thinking of becoming one.
